Created by Dr. Robert Atkins, the Atkins diet is low carbohydrate / high protein diet. The idea behind this diet is to make the change of body burning glucose to burning stored fat for energy. In this way, they lose weight. The Atkins diet has been criticized in recent years due to its encouragement to eat more meat and less carbohydrates and carbohydrates that are permitted to be of certain vegetables. Opponents of the Atkins diet claim that diets high in meat proteins are linked to heart disease, kidney disease and gout. The Atkins diet has four phases: induction, weight loss, pre-maintenance and lifetime maintenance. The only difference between the four stages is the amount of carbohydrates you are allowed to eat. Protein

Proteins are the main staple of the Atkins Diet Food List. The seafood is also allowed, but the mussels and oysters should be eaten in moderation. Try to avoid processed meats such as bacon and ham even though they are in the ready to eat in moderation.

Vegetables

You can eat several cups of vegetables a day. A good way to measure if you do not have a cup useful is to make each piece the size of a baseball. The Atkins Diet Food List urges a handful of vegetables over others because they have a lower rate net carbs. So do not get too confusing to try each and all green leafy vegetables such as lettuce and cucumber and stay away or eat in moderation, the type of starch, such as carrots, potatoes and sweet potatoes.

Fruits

good fruits to eat are avocados, tomatoes and olives. The sweetest fruits can also be eaten in moderation, except for the first phase.

Dairy

delicious cheese is definitely OK. You can eat all types of cheese in moderation. However, the ice cream and milk is out of bounds.
